Essential Moving And Packing Supplies

Moving can be a daunting task, but having the right supplies can make the process much smoother. Here's a comprehensive list of moving supplies you might need:


  1. Boxes: Getting boxes of various sizes to accommodate different items, small, medium, large, and extra-large boxes.
  2. Packing Tape: Strong and durable packing tape is good to seal boxes securely.
  3. Bubble Wrap: Bubble wrap is good for wrapping fragile items such as glassware, ceramics, and electronics.
  4. Packing Paper: Packing paper works good to wrap items like dishes and anything that you don't use bubble wrap for.
  5. Markers: Markers are good for labeling boxes with their contents and destination room.
  6. Labels/Stickers: Color-coded or labeled stickers help with easy identification of boxes.
  7. Stretch Wrap: Stretch wrap is useful to bundle items together or secure drawers and doors on furniture. Also to secure furniture pads on furniture before moving it.
  8. Moving Blankets: Moving blankets or furniture pads help protect furniture from scratches and dents during transit.
  9. Furniture Covers: Plastic covers to protect furniture from dust, dirt, and moisture. It's good to use these or stretch wrap when putting your furniture in storage to prevent dust, dirt etc from getting onto your furniture and belongings.

  11. Mattress Bags: Mattress bags help protect mattresses from dust, moisture, and tears during moving it.
  12. Utility Knife/Box Cutter: Box cutters help with cutting boxes and packing materials
  13. Furniture Dolly/Hand Truck: Dollies/ hand trucks will help move heavier items a lot easier 
  14. Ratchet Straps: Ratchet straps help with securing items in the moving truck to prevent them from shifting around during transit and items falling over and getting damaged
  15. Tool Kit: Screwdrivers, wrenches, and other basic tools for disassembling furniture if necessary when your moving comes in handy.
  16. Shoulder Dollies: A shoulder dolly helps lift heavy items safely. and potentially take strain off of your back or potentially injure yourself when lifting heavier items.
  17. Measuring Tape: Measuring tape is for measuring doorways, hallways, and furniture to ensure they fit through before attempting to do so to prevent any scratches or dents in the wall or damaging your furniture also and allow to you to plan a procedure of what you need to do in order to move it.
  18. First Aid Kit: First aid kits can come in handy when any minor injuries occur during the move.
  19. Trash Bags: For packing items that don't need boxes, like clothing or linens.
  20. Cleaning Supplies: Cleaning supplies will come in handy to clean both the old and new residence after moving out and before moving in.
