Options For Moving Long Distance Or Cross Country

Moving longer distances can be exciting while also being a daunting task at the same time. Below are a few options you can choose from to carry out your long distance or cross country move, we hope it helps!

1. Have It Done By Professional Movers

While this may be one of the most expensive options when moving longer distances it also is the most convenient as you won't have to worry about anything considering long distance movers will take care of your entire move from start to finish and also get it done a lot quicker. In addition to that all of your valuable personal belongings will be insured in case anything happens to be damaged during your relocation and your risk of injury is no longer a risk. Hiring long distance movers can also save you a lot of time considering you won't have to make multiple trips to the store for moving supplies or worry about the logistics of getting a truck and having to pack, disassemble furniture then load it on top of the things you still have to do day to day plus the other tasks that need to be done for your long distance move.

2. Portable Storage Containers

Portable storage containers are also an option when moving longer distances which also can also eliminate having to get a rental truck and have to drive it all the way to your new home while also being cheaper than long distance movers. This option also can be beneficial due to the fact that you'll have all the time you need to load it up if you choose to do it yourself plus it can be deemed storage also if you have anything that prolongs moving in to your new home. When considering choosing this option ensure your property will have enough space to store the container and its okay with the property manager if applicable, you'll also have to ensure your belongings are properly packed, protected and secured in the container if doing it yourself. You can choose this option and hire movers just for the labor of loading and unloading.

3. Freight Trailers

There are multiple companies that will drop of one of there trailers to load up your belongings yourself or get some help from movers to do so than they will come [ick it up and transport it to your new home and drop it off and once its unloaded they will come pick it up. This option is also cheaper then hiring log distance movers and removes you from having to worry about driving a truck and allows you to just focus on moving your belongings. This option also requires you to ensure you have all proper materials and equipment to carry out the move and the trailer may arrive a couple days or week(s) after you do.

4. DIY

Carrying out your move yourself can be a cheaper alternative to the other options but there still may be a decent amount of expenses associated with your move  depending on the size of it. You will also be required to do all of the work for your relocation however you have full control over how everything is packed and moved plus you can do it on your own time at your own pace.

5. Vehicle Shipping

When it comes to moving longer distances having your vehicle shipped can allow you to fly to your destination if you prefer rather not to drive there plus eliminate the wear and tear on your vehicle(s). However this option may be a little more expensive than driving yourself and it may take a little longer for your vehicle to arrive rather than if you were to drive yourself.

6. Pet Relocation Services

There may be an instance if your moving long distance, cross country or even to another country that you may consider using pet relocation services. This will leave your furry friend in good hands with specialized professionals who ensure the safety and comfort of your pet(s). They will also handle all the logistics of your relocation plus the paperwork and regulations.

7. Renting A Trailer

This option can be alot cheaper then renting an actual moving truck and can be used with your personal vehicle which can eliminate all the expenses associated with renting a moving truck. However you'll have to ensure that your vehicle is capable of towing a trailer and you can either load your belongings yourself or have movers do it also.

8. Hiring Labor Only Help

Choosing any option for your long distance move that doesn't include full service movers relocating your belongings you can hire movers just for labor help to either load, unload or both. This allows you to choose exactly how much help you prefer to have whether that be to move just a few of the heavier items or for a couple of hours.

Choosing the right moving option depends on your budget, time, and personal preferences. Whether you opt for the convenience of full-service movers, the cost-effectiveness of DIY, or the flexibility of hybrid services, planning ahead and considering your specific needs will help ensure a smooth and successful move.
